RATLLES, FLORS, BLAU I VERMELL / STRIPES, FLOWERS, BLUE AND RED

Digueu-me optimista però per mi, ara comença la millor època de l'any per anar a la platja.

L'aigua és més neta, i prou calenta pel meu gust,  la sorra és buida de gent. L'únic inconvenient és que entre setmana no tinc temps d'anar-hi...

Però si el cap de setmana fa bo, encara podrem tornar-nos a posar  els dos últims biquinis d'aquest estiu.

Call me optimistic but, IMO, the best time of the year to go to the beach starts now.

Water is much cleaner, warm enough for my taste, and the sand is empty of people. The only problem is that I can only go during the weekends...

If the weather is fine next week-end, we will be able to wear again the last two bikinis of this summer. 

El biquini de la meva filla és el model núm.1  de la revista Patrones Costura Fácil núm. 29. Va veure el meu biquini groc i li´n va agradar la part de dalt.  Li vaig fer igual en vermell, amb alguns canvis: Vaig escurçar les tires i vaig fer més petita la distància de separació entre els dos "triangles" que formen la part de dalt. 
El top està folrat amb la mateixa licra vermella i té goma en horitzontal, sota el pit.

My daughter's bikini is pattern number 1 from the magazine Patrones Costura Fácil number 29. She saw my yellow bikini and said she wanted the same top.  So I used the same pattern with some adjustments: shortening the straps and sewing the two upper triangles closer to each other than in the magazine pattern.  The top is lined with the same red lycra and has elastic under the bust.

La calceta és la del model núm. 6 de la mateixa revista. 

És reversible, seguint aquest tutorial de la Lourdes de punts de colors. He vist que els biquinis que s'han comprat les meves filles aquest estiu tenien tots la calceta reversible.

The bottom is pattern number 6 from the same magazine. It  is reversible, following this tutorial by Lourdes (Punts de colors). My daughters have bought several bikinis this summer, and all of them had reversible bottoms, no topstitching!

El meu biquini també té la calceta reversible, el patró és el que tinc fet a mida, l'he baixat una mica de cintura i entrat de natges perquè fos més "platger".
My bikini has also a reversible bottom, the pattern is my tailor-made pattern, a little smaller to be more "beachy".

Les instruccions de Patrones són telegràfiques, i jo vaig anar totalment per lliure: Els sostens tenen doble capa de licra, però no són reversibles, tenen "farciment". Porten goma només a la tira horitzontal sota els pits. També hi vaig posar tanca a l'esquena en lloc de nus, el nus em fa nosa quan estic ajaçada prenent el sol. 

"Patrones" instructions are very sparse, I just followed my own way. The top has double layer of lycra, but it is not reversible, it has got padding. It has elastic under the bust. I also inserted a closure in the back , I find it uncomfortable to have a knot there when I lie sunbathing.  

L'estrena no va ser a la platja sinó a la muntanya. M'encanta banyar-me en rius i llacs!
First time wearing it was not on the beach, but in a mountain lake. I love swimming in rivers and lakes!

BIQUINI GROC / YELLOW BIKINI

Benvingut a l'hemisferi nord, estiu del 2018!

La calceta de biquini que vaig cosir-me pel tutorial no ha quedat pas sola, ja té company.

The bikini bottom I sewed for my tutorial has got company!

El top és el núm.1  de la revista Patrones Costura Fácil núm. 29. Feia un munt de temps que la tenia, aquesta revista. Hi ha  4 patrons diferents de biquinis, 4 calcetes i 4 sostens,  me'n faré algun altre segur.

The top is pattern number 1 of the magazine Patrones Costura Facil (Easy)  29. I bought this magzine ages ago, and had never used it.  There are four different patterns of bikinis, four tops and four bottoms, I plan to sew more of them.

Les instruccions són de Patrones,o sigui, que són poca cosa. Vaig haver d'anar una mica per lliure,sort que no és el primer biquini que faig.  Segons les instruccions, no hi anava goma enlloc, però jo n'hi vaig afegir  a la costura horitzontal sota el pit, i així subjecta una mica.

The instruccions are very sparse, as usual in Patrones. I just went my own way, fortunately it wasn't my first bikini. The instruccions didn't mention any elastic,but  I inserted 1 cm elastic in the horizontal seam under the bust, it holds things better IMO.

El top no té folre, són dues capes de licra. Però no és reversible, per darrera va entornat a mà.

Si em torno a fer aquest top, també hi posaré goma a les tires, perquè no es donin tant. I faré la tira de darrera més curta, ara és tan llarga que l'haig de cordar a davant,sota el pit. 

The top has no lining, there are two layers of lycra. But it is not reversible, as it is hand stitched in the interior.

If I sew it again, I will insert elastic also in the strips. And I will shorten the back strip, now it is so long that I have to tie it in the front. 

Estic molt contenta amb aquest biquini, i encara queda molt estiu per davant per fer-ne més.

I am very happy with this bikini, and there is still a long summer ahead to sew more.

Patrones

Bona nit a tothom,

On són les costureres de la revista Patrones?

En els quioscos hi veig cada mes la revista Patrones, però fa molt de temps que no llegeixo cap entrada en un blog d'algú que hagi cosit una peça de Patrones...

La roba de Patrones és xula. Jo trobo els models molt interessants, moderns. Però les instruccions són telegràfiques. Per això quan vaig començar a cosir vaig acostumar-me al Burda, on hi ha una mica més d'explicació. 

Tot i així, m'he anat comprant revistes Patrones durant aquests anys. Avui les he comptat, en tinc 9. No són pas moltes, però haig de confessar que en cinc anys només m'he fet una peça de la revista Patrones.

Where are the Patrones magazine's sewists?

I see the magazine in the newsagent's every month, but it has been very long since I read a blog post by someone who has sewn a Patrones garment...

I do like Patrones clothing. The patterns are very interesting, fashionable. But the instructions are very sparse. That's why when I started sewing I turned to Burda, which has a bit better explanations. 

In spite of that, I have been buying Patrones over the years. I have counted them, I have 9 magazines. Not that many, but I must confess that in five years I have only sewn one garment from a Patrones magazine.

La roba és viscosa,  molt suau i agradable de dur a l'estiu.  Llàstima que quan me la vaig tornar a posar la setmana passada, vaig veure que començaven de sortir-li boles. Uixxx

The fabric is viscose, soft and pleasant to wear in summer. The pity is that last week, when I wore it again, I found out it had started pilling. Uffff

Les instruccions de Patrones són ben poca cosa, és cert. Però aquest patró estava marcat com fàcil i ho era.  
Porta butxaques a la costura, en la mateixa revista hi ha un tutorial per fer-les, amb gràfics.
La trinxa no quedava clar si duia goma només a darrera o a tot arreu. A mi m'agraden les trinxes elàstiques on la goma només és darrera, i l'hi vaig fer seguint aquest tutorial.

Patrones' instructions are really sparse. But this was an easy pattern.

It has in-seam pockets, which have an illustrated tutorial in the same magazine.

It was not clear by the instructions whether the waistband was elasticated all around or had a flat front and elastic back. I chose to sew it with flat front and elastic back. I found this tutorial (in Spanish).
