PANTALONS AFRICANS / AFRICAN PANTS

Si teniu filles adolescents potser estareu d'acord amb mi que és molt difícil cosir-les-hi roba.  Volen dessuadores i texans a l'hivern, samarretes i xorts a l'estiu. I sobretot, són impacients. Per això, si per casualitat demanen que els facis una peça de roba, i trobes el teixit adequat, val més posar-t'hi abans no canviïn de pensament.

La meva filla petita volia uns pantalons amb goma, i en un viatge al Marroc vam trobar la roba que li agradava. Una mena de viscosa estampada.Tal dit tal fet.

If you have teenage daughters, you may agree with me that it is very difficult to sew for them. They want sweatshirts and jeans in winter, tees and shorts in summer. And, above all, they are very impatient. Therefore, if they ask you to sew something for them and you happen to find the right fabric, you'd better start sewing before they change their mind.

My younger daughter wanted a pair of elastic waist pants, and during a trip to Morocco we found the right fabric . Some kind of printed rayon.  So I went ahead.

El patró és el mateix que els meus xorts d'una peça, el 50 de la revista Moda de Pasarela núm. 15, format pantaló llarg. No hi havia la seva talla, vaig haver d'escalar el patró i reduïr-lo dues talles. 

Com que no hi ha costures laterals, porten butxaques de pedaç, copiades d'uns pantalons comprats. He casat l'estampat, per això no veieu les butxaques.

The pattern is the same as in my one pattern piece shorts,  50 from the magazine Moda de Pasarela number 15, lenghthened to long pants. The pattern had to be scaled down two sizes.
As there are no side seams, they have patch pockets, traced from a pair of RTW pants. The print is matched, that's why you can hardly see the pockets.

Goma ampla a la cintura, goma estreta al turmell. Són súper còmodes!

Wide elastic at the waist and narrow elastic at the ankle. They are so comfortable!

Vermell i blanc / Red and white

Bona nit! Com ha provat el  diumenge? Platja o migdiada mirant el  Tour de França?

Avui reposo però divendres a la tarda  i ahir  vaig fer un intensiu de costura. Havia de tenir enllestida aquesta jaqueta bomber per aquest matí. 

Good evening! How was your summer Sunday? Went to the beach or stayed at home having siesta while watching the Tour de France on TV?

I did have a rest today but Friday afternoon and yesterday I was sewing a lot. I had to finish this bomber jacket by this morning.

Està feta amb roba de dessuadora.  No fa gaire temps de jaquetes, però la meva filla petita em va demanar que li cosís per anar de colònies, diu que a les nits refresca.

Sort que ja n'he cosit unes quantes de bombers...

Vaig repetir el patró de la meva bomber, amb un parell de talles menys, vaig tancar una mica l'escot i no la vaig folrar.  Això sí , hi vaig afegir butxaques. 

It is sewn in sweatshirt fabric. The weather is too hot for sweatshirt, but my younger daughter asked me to sew it for her. She wanted to wear it in her Summer Camp, it can be cooler in the evenings.

Luckily, I have already sewn quite a few bombers...

I used the same pattern as my bomber jacket, two sizes smaller, I rised the neckline and did not line it. On her request, I  added pockets.

Què faria jo sense la meva overlock!  I mira que al principi no ens aveníem gaire!

What would I do without my overlock!  Although we didn't get on very well together at the beginning!

Com que tenia la màquina de cosir i l'overlock enfilades en vermell, mentre la roba de puny no arribava (l'he comprada per internet), he començat a fer un vestit per mi de punt roma vermell. Si tot va com ha d'anar, aviat us el podré ensenyar.

As my sewing machine and serger were threaded in red, while waiting for the rib knit to arrive ( I bought it online), I have started to sew a red ponte knit dress for me. Hopefully I will be able to show it to you soon.
